Hello Hampton Roads Soccer Community,
We are quickly approaching the beginning of the 2013 edition of the Smithsonian Soccer Academy Summer Training Program. Do not worry if you have not preregistered. You can come to the first training sessions next week and register on-site. Just bring the attached registration form with you. In addition, if you cannot begin next week, or can only attend a few weeks of the camp, we prorate our fees and can get you registered at any time during the summer. Please see the information below that describes the unique attributes of the Smithsonian Soccer Academy Summer Training Program. We also know that all your clubs are asking for their deposits at this time, therefore, Smithsonian Soccer Academy can accept partial payments to begin training and collect the rest of the fee over the course of the next seven weeks.
We have made many advancements in the program to include bringing in certified fitness trainers who will specifically focus on developing the fitness requirements of high level soccer players. Smithsonian Soccer Academy concentrates on exclusively training soccer players and developing their technical, physical, mental, and tactical abilities so that they can take their play forward to new heights. Every component and nuance of the game is trained in great detail and we give each player the thousands of repetitions of the technical skills required to play the game of soccer at a high level. The Smithsonian Soccer Academy Summer Training Program is a different environment than your typical summer soccer camp and your in-season experiences with your various clubs. Smithsonian Soccer Academy was founded to give players in Tidewater an opportunity to train in the same way youth academy teams in continental Europe would train. We are totally dedicated to improving each individual players technical ability, athletic performance, and tactical insight. We believe that players trained in a game-like environment with time, field size, and opponent pressure will develop at a faster rate than traditionally trained soccer players. Players must be free to experiment in a non-restrictive training environment which emphasizes individual player development. We are dedicated to training players in an open and encouraging environment where mistakes and game results are not criticized, but actually encouraged. We absolutely demand that players train on their edge, but do it in a way that encourages experimentation, creativity, and playing with flair. A field player or goalkeeper in the Smithsonian Soccer Academy will receive more high level training sessions than what they received during a typical club season. A player in the Smithsonian Soccer Academy Summer Training Program can expect to be individually challenged and will show greater improvement over the summer than during a full year of team oriented club soccer training. If you want to become a much better soccer player, Smithsonian Soccer Academy Summer Training Program will provide the platform to incredible technical, physical, mental, and tactical development.
Our program begins in twelve days. Please click here for more information and a registration form. It contains all the details about our 7 week 42 training session Summer Training program for field players and goalkeepers. In addition, if you are a U14 and above player who wants to experience the demands of college soccer, we are offering a College Preparation camp specifically designed to test your physical and technical limits. Information on the College Preparation Camp is also attached (please note that this training begins at 5:30 on sessions held at Norfolk Collegiate Lower School on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). This program will involve daily fitness testing and work on advanced soccer techniques for aspiring players and college bound players. If money is not currently available, register your child with a minimal payment and pay the rest in a few payments before we conclude the program on 27 July. Please complete the registration flyer and return it as soon as possible to reserve your place in the 2013 edition of Smithsonian Soccer Academy’s Summer Training Program.
Thanks,
Kevin Smith
